Remember those those crazy knits Mr Cosby rocked so well in the eighties and nineties? Or, a little closer to home, perhaps you recall those worn by the inimitable Don Bourke, man had a snazzy collection of knits. Or maybe you recall the likes of The Notorious B.I.G doing a little something for the street rep of the knits. Or maybe Snoop Dog and Yeezy getting on it.
Where ever your memories take you, those unmistakable colourful 3D knits certainly left a mark. At least on my impressionable young mind circa the early nineties.
The fact that conic Australian knitwear brand Geccu was very much responsible, (along with now American owned Coogi), for the 3D knitting technique only makes me love them a little more. That's how I do patriotism.
The popularity of the distinctive knits may have waned since their heyday, but they certainly have not disappeared completely. And after this brilliant collaboration between Melbourne label Extinct and Geccu, perhaps a resurgence is on the cards.
here. Or if you're after something a little more traditional you can find some Geccu action right here. Don't blame me if you buy two, or three.
